The Lord allowed for this country to become the number one global power, but it appears that we're falling way faster than we went up.
Reading from the Declaration of Independence:
"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
Back in the day, Thomas Jefferson and those people declared who they were as a nation and we became that. Nobody in our past was fully given over to God, but look at how much of God they had that we would become the number one global power. So much came from our forefathers and there were some other people who carried it on. And now, look, we're even confused about our historical underpinnings and the place of God in it.
As long as we're living, God can build this nation based on our standards as Christians because we have adopted His standards. That is how I see it.
